In a group of 61 PFS subjects who completed the BDI-II, rates of depressive symptoms were markedly higher (75%) than the control group (10%).

While 3% of controls reported suicidal thoughts, this was significantly more frequent in PFS patients: 39% of PFS patients exhibited suicidality with 5% having chosen the statement “I would like to kill myself”.
